What You’ll Do

• Provide comprehensive clinical services in Psychiatry to patients at Groote Schuur Hospital.
• Participate actively in clinical governance and administrative duties to ensure high standards of care.
• Teach and supervise junior staff, fostering a learning environment and sharing your expertise.
• Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and treatments in a psychiatric outpatient setting.
• Facilitate effective communication through report generation, letter writing, and consultations.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Psychiatry.
• Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Psychiatry.
• For Grade 1: No experience required post-registration.
• For Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Medical Specialist after HPCSA registration.
• For Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience as a Medical Specialist post-registration.
• Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment within the field of psychiatry.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write reports and letters effectively.
