What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive clinical services in Psychiatry to patients at Groote Schuur Hospital.
- Participate actively in clinical governance and administrative duties to ensure high standards of care.
- Teach and supervise junior staff, fostering a learning environment and sharing your expertise.
- Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and treatments in a psychiatric outpatient setting.
- Facilitate effective communication through report generation, letter writing, and consultations.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Psychiatry.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Psychiatry.
- For Grade 1: No experience required post-registration.
- For Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Medical Specialist after HPCSA registration.
- For Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience as a Medical Specialist post-registration.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment within the field of psychiatry.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write reports and letters effectively.
