What You’ll Do

  • Provide psychiatric services to inpatients and outpatients in designated service areas.
  • Contribute to the teaching and training of Health Sciences undergraduate students.
  • Engage in academic activities required for achieving the MMed (Psych) / FC Psych qualification.
  • Participate in clinical governance duties relevant to your current placement.
  • Supervise and provide in-service training for junior colleagues and staff.
  • Conduct medical research and maintain appropriate knowledge and skills in psychiatry.

What You’ll Need

  • A medical qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Registration with the HPCSA for Independent Practice.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Completed FC Psych Part I qualification from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.
  • Good communication and administrative skills, along with computer literacy.
  • Willingness to perform emergency and after-hour call cover.
