What You’ll Do

  • Provide optimal and holistic nursing care within the Orthopaedic Unit.
  • Ensure effective management of resources and compliance with health policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and maintain patient care standards.
  • Supervise nursing staff and implement constructive relationships with team members.
  • Ensure adherence to Infection Prevention and Control protocols.
  • Coordinate patient management activities according to established protocols.
  • Report on patient safety incidents and challenges within the unit.
  • Engage in staff development initiatives and performance management.

What You’ll Need

  • Senior Certificate / Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Basic nursing qualification accredited with the SANC (e.g., Diploma/Degree in General Nursing).
  • A post-basic qualification in Orthopaedic Nursing Science, accredited with the SANC.
  • Grade 1: Minimum of four years of experience in nursing after SANC registration.
  • Grade 2: Minimum of fourteen years of experience in nursing after SANC registration, with at least ten years in Orthopaedic nursing.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Good supervisory and teaching abilities.
