What You’ll Do

  • Provide input into the development of Health and Hygiene policies for the Department of Labour.
  • Implement OHS strategies in compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Conduct complex inspections focused on Health and Hygiene as per the inspection programme.
  • Engage in technical research to identify the latest trends in Occupational Health and Hygiene.
  • Support enforcement actions, including preparing detailed reports for legal proceedings.

What You’ll Need

  • A three-year recognised qualification at NQF 6 or an Undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Hygiene, Analytical Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • Four years of functional experience in Health and Hygiene inspection services.
  • Knowledge of departmental policies, Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations, and Batho Pele Principles.
  • Strong skills in facilitation, planning and organising, computer literacy, and effective communication.
  • Ability to conduct research, manage projects, and meet deadlines with a disciplined and responsible approach.
