What You’ll Do

  • Provide high-quality clinical paediatric rheumatology services for both inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, ensuring exceptional clinical outcomes.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, allied professionals, and students to create a supportive healthcare environment.
  • Conduct informal and formal teaching sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
  • Administer clinical services efficiently, ensuring optimal management of patient care.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through self-learning and application of current evidence.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate medical qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Paediatrics.
  • For Grade 1: No experience required after HPCSA registration.
  • For Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience post-registration.
  • For Grade 3: At least 10 years’ relevant experience post-registration.
  • Flexibility with workdays and willingness to conduct outpatient clinics and provide inpatient support as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster good relationships with staff, patients, and families.
  • Excellent administrative, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to holistic patient care.
