What You’ll Do
- Manage all medical conditions to ensure optimal patient care.
- Counsel patients and their families regarding treatment options and rehabilitation.
- Perform resuscitative measures and provide intensive care for critically ill patients.
- Prescribe medications and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Assist in medical procedures and surgeries.
- Supervise and train junior medical staff.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records and documentation to reduce litigation risks.
- Ensure compliance with legal and statutory healthcare requirements.
- Consult with patients on chronic disease management in outpatient settings.
- Provide outreach and support services in the surrounding areas.
What You’ll Need
- Senior Certificate/Grade 12.
- An appropriate qualification allowing registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Orthopedic.
- A tertiary qualification in Health Science (MBChB).
- Initial and current registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Orthopedic.
- For Grade 2, a minimum of 5 years relevant experience post-registration; for Grade 3, a minimum of 10 years.
- Current annual registration with HPCSA (2026/2027).
- Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Teaching and supervisory skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Knowledge of Public Service legislation and policies.
- Skills in conflict management, problem-solving, and leadership.
