What You’ll Do

  • Manage all medical conditions to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Counsel patients and their families regarding treatment options and rehabilitation.
  • Perform resuscitative measures and provide intensive care for critically ill patients.
  • Prescribe medications and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Assist in medical procedures and surgeries.
  • Supervise and train junior medical staff.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical records and documentation to reduce litigation risks.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and statutory healthcare requirements.
  • Consult with patients on chronic disease management in outpatient settings.
  • Provide outreach and support services in the surrounding areas.

What You’ll Need

  • Senior Certificate/Grade 12.
  • An appropriate qualification allowing registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Orthopedic.
  • A tertiary qualification in Health Science (MBChB).
  • Initial and current registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Orthopedic.
  • For Grade 2, a minimum of 5 years relevant experience post-registration; for Grade 3, a minimum of 10 years.
  • Current annual registration with HPCSA (2026/2027).
  • Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Teaching and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of Public Service legislation and policies.
  • Skills in conflict management, problem-solving, and leadership.
