What You’ll Do

  • Provide high-quality perioperative care in operating rooms and critical care units.
  • Teach and lecture anaesthesiology and critical care to medical students and peers.
  • Evaluate the performance and progress of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Stay updated on advancements in anaesthesiology and critical care.
  • Handle hospital and university administrative tasks related to your role.
  • Engage in research initiatives in anaesthesiology and critical care, including guiding registrars in their research projects.

What You’ll Need

  • Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology.
  • HPCSA registration as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology.
  • For Grade 1: No experience required post-registration.
  • For Grade 2: At least 5 years of experience as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology.
  • For Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for outreach programs.
  • Willingness to work after hours as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in clinical research planning and execution.
