What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and manage neurosurgery services at Rob Ferreira Hospital.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with established protocols.
  • Participate in academic and training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct clinical audits and engage in continuous professional development.
  • Collaborate with hospital management to uphold patient care standards.
  • Accept responsibility for managing patients admitted to level 2/3 services.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.

What You’ll Need

  • Appropriate qualifications for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Neurosurgery.
  • A valid work permit if applicable.
  • Sound knowledge of medical ethics and current health regulations.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary management and teamwork.
  • Strong skills in clinical assessment, history taking, and patient management.
  • Relevant experience based on the grade level:
  • Grade 1: None post-registration.
  • Grade 2: Minimum of five years post-registration experience.
  • Grade 3: Minimum of ten years post-registration experience.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure, along with effective communication and leadership skills.
