What You’ll Do

  • Provide medical care and manage general medical and surgical conditions at the primary healthcare level.
  • Implement South African TB and HIV care guidelines, including managing drug-resistant TB and HIV in children.
  • Conduct outreach services to clinics in the Northern/Tygerberg Sub-District, offering guidance and support to healthcare colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure effective communication within the healthcare team.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with current medical practices and guidelines.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification that allows registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Relevant experience as follows:
  • Grade 1: No experience required for South African qualified employees; 1 year for foreign qualified employees.
  • Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years’ experience for South African qualified employees; 6 years for foreign qualified employees.
  • Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years’ experience for South African qualified employees; 11 years for foreign qualified employees.
  • A valid driver’s license and the willingness to travel as needed.
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, Outlook) and excellent interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills.
