What You’ll Do
- Provide high-quality clinical services to paediatric patients and their families.
- Supervise and train junior medical staff to ensure excellent care and clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, allied professionals, and medical students to enhance patient care.
- Engage in informal and formal teaching of undergraduate medical students.
- Manage clinical services effectively, ensuring efficient administration and adherence to protocols.
- Lead clinical initiatives while utilizing the HECTIS patient management system and other health applications.
- Continuously improve your professional skills through self-learning and application of current medical evidence.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate medical qualification allowing registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
- Registration with HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
- Experience requirements vary by grade:
- Grade 1: No experience required for SA qualified applicants; 1 year for foreign qualified applicants.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years experience after HPCSA registration for SA qualified applicants; 6 years for foreign qualified applicants.
- Grade 3: At least 10 years experience after HPCSA registration for SA qualified applicants; 11 years for foreign qualified applicants.
- Valid APLS/PALS certification.
- Ability to provide after-hours emergency services and participate in commuted overtime.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and families.
