What You’ll Do

  • Lead the Anaesthesiology Department, ensuring efficient and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Oversee clinical governance and quality management processes.
  • Respond to medical and legal incidents with professionalism and integrity.
  • Manage and allocate resources, including laboratory investigations, medications, and equipment.
  • Provide strategic leadership and participate in hospital executive management decisions.
  • Plan and facilitate the training of staff, including Registrars, Medical Officers, and Interns.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives and manage clinical risks effectively.

What You’ll Need

  • Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience as a Medical Specialist post-registration.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare policies and frameworks, including Healthcare 2030 and Ideal Hospital frameworks.
  • Proven experience in supervising and training medical staff.
  • Ability to manage resources effectively and lead initiatives that promote diversity and transformation in the workplace.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
