What You’ll Do
- Provide veterinary public health and export facilitation services to ensure safe meat production.
- Promote community awareness on food safety and veterinary public health issues.
- Monitor and inspect abattoirs and export facilities to ensure compliance with standards.
- Facilitate the certification of animals and products for export.
- Manage the registration of export and import facilities for animals and products.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with international meat production standards.
- Oversee the documentation process for the movement of animals across borders.
- Implement national, provincial, and departmental frameworks related to veterinary standards.
- Monitor compliance with trade policies and manage quality assurance systems.
- Report discrepancies and manage human, financial, and asset resources effectively.
What You’ll Need
- Matric certificate and an NQF Level 7 qualification in Bachelor of Veterinary Science or Veterinary Medicine (BVSC/BVMCH), recognized by SAQA.
- Registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a middle/senior managerial role within the veterinary services environment.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Nyukela SMS pre-entry certificate.
- Strong knowledge of public service regulations, financial management, and project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
