What You’ll Do

• Provide strategic management direction and expert advice on financial accounting and revenue policies.
• Develop, monitor, and implement robust financial accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Align departmental policies with the Treasury Frameworks and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Oversee the timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and GRAP/GAAP standards.
• Facilitate both external and internal audit processes, ensuring the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Manage the preparation and compilation of annual and interim financial statements.
• Ensure accurate billing, recording, and collection of departmental revenue while managing debtors effectively.
• Oversee human resource management within the department, including performance monitoring and staff development.

What You’ll Need

• A relevant tertiary qualification at NQF level 7 in Financial Management or Accounting.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial field at middle or senior management level.
• Proficiency in computer skills relevant to financial management.
• A valid Certificate of SMS (Nyukela) must be submitted prior to appointment.
• Strong knowledge of financial legislation and prescripts related to the PFMA and revenue management.
• Excellent management skills and experience in financial management processes.
