What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and assess the policy and legislative framework affecting financial operations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial policies and processes.
  • Oversee revenue management, including cashiering, banking, and debt management.
  • Ensure compliance with financial prescripts and provide guidance on revenue and expenditure procedures.
  • Manage expenditure related to employee compensation, goods and services, and subsidies.
  • Prepare and submit interim and annual financial statements and administrative reports.
  • Lead performance management and development within your team.
  • Facilitate effective communication and implement operational plans for the sub-directorate.
  • Participate in transverse task teams and manage procurement and asset management for the sub-directorate.

What You’ll Need

  • Senior Certificate plus a Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Financial Management, Accounting, or a related qualification at NQF level 7, recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in management accounting at a supervisory or management level.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and Public Finance Management Act.
  • Strong skills in financial management, policy analysis, problem-solving, and planning.
  • Excellent communication, computer literacy, and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and lead effectively.
