What You’ll Do
- Monitor and assess the policy and legislative framework affecting financial operations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial policies and processes.
- Oversee revenue management, including cashiering, banking, and debt management.
- Ensure compliance with financial prescripts and provide guidance on revenue and expenditure procedures.
- Manage expenditure related to employee compensation, goods and services, and subsidies.
- Prepare and submit interim and annual financial statements and administrative reports.
- Lead performance management and development within your team.
- Facilitate effective communication and implement operational plans for the sub-directorate.
- Participate in transverse task teams and manage procurement and asset management for the sub-directorate.
What You’ll Need
- Senior Certificate plus a Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Financial Management, Accounting, or a related qualification at NQF level 7, recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in management accounting at a supervisory or management level.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and Public Finance Management Act.
- Strong skills in financial management, policy analysis, problem-solving, and planning.
- Excellent communication, computer literacy, and report writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and lead effectively.
