What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and compile reports related to job postings and staffing needs.
  • Monitor and enhance the HR strategy, focusing on the management of human resource demand and supply.
  • Oversee recruitment and selection processes to attract the best talent.
  • Develop and maintain service standards in your area of responsibility.
  • Implement the unit’s Operational Plan and manage staff performance according to established guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with employment equity and skills development initiatives.
  • Facilitate the processing of pension benefits and leave payouts.
  • Maintain accurate Human Resource records and approve PERSAL transactions.
  • Utilize resources efficiently while adhering to the Batho Pele principles and service standards.

What You’ll Need

  • A Senior Certificate/Grade 12 plus at least six years of relevant experience in Human Resource Management, or a Diploma/Degree (NQF Level 6/7) in Human Resource Management or Public Administration with a minimum of three years’ experience in a Personnel Officer role.
  • Completion of at least three PERSAL courses is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of PERSAL, including the ability to interpret PERSAL reports.
  • In-depth understanding of HR policies, systems, and best practices related to recruitment, performance management, and employee benefits.
  • Familiarity with the PFMA, Public Service Regulations, Basic Conditions of Employment, and Employment Equity Act.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A valid driver’s license.
