What You’ll Do
- Facilitate and coordinate economic transformation operations within the province.
- Oversee the implementation of economic empowerment initiatives for youth, women, and people with disabilities.
- Manage the localization of opportunities and the revitalization of township and rural economies.
- Lead the execution of the Black Industrialist programme and other economic empowerment policies.
- Ensure effective management of departmental resources and strategic planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to align economic development strategies with provincial and national policies.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, Development Studies, or Business Management at NQF level 7 recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of five years of experience at a Senior Managerial level in economic transformation or empowerment.
- Completion of the Nyukela Certificate for entry into the Senior Management Service (SMS) upon appointment.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of socio-economic conditions and relevant economic policies in KwaZulu-Natal.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
