What You’ll Do

  • Provide diagnostic audiological assessments and rehabilitative services to patients.
  • Manage resources effectively to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in and present in-service training and continuing education sessions.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to the audiology service within the hospital.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Audiologist or Speech Therapist and Audiologist.
  • Registration with the HPCSA in the relevant profession.
  • Experience requirements vary by grade:
  • Grade 1: No experience required post-registration (for SA qualified employees) or 1 year post-registration for foreign qualified employees.
  • Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years relevant experience post-registration for SA qualified employees or 11 years for foreign qualified employees.
  • Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years relevant experience post-registration for SA qualified employees or 21 years for foreign qualified employees.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong report writing, organizing, leadership, and planning abilities.
  • Good knowledge of relevant national and provincial legislation and policies.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
