What You’ll Do

• Coordinate and conduct audits and inspections related to occupational hygiene exposure in mining operations.
• Investigate mine-related accidents and complaints, analyzing trends to identify high-risk areas.
• Serve on boards of examiners and provide input on mining rights, permits, and mine closures.
• Engage with stakeholders to consult on health and safety measures in mining practices.
• Prepare reports and recommendations to enhance occupational hygiene standards.
• Undertake managerial activities to ensure the smooth operation of inspections and audits.

What You’ll Need

• A National Diploma in Occupational Hygiene or Environmental Health (NQF Level 6).
• A Certificate in Mine Environmental Control.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in occupational hygiene.
• Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
• Strong skills in hazard identification, risk management, and report writing.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make informed decisions in challenging situations.
