What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and conduct audits and inspections related to occupational hygiene exposure in mining operations.
- Investigate mine-related accidents and complaints, analyzing trends to identify high-risk areas.
- Serve on boards of examiners and provide input on mining rights, permits, and mine closures.
- Engage with stakeholders to consult on health and safety measures in mining practices.
- Prepare reports and recommendations to enhance occupational hygiene standards.
- Undertake managerial activities to ensure the smooth operation of inspections and audits.
What You’ll Need
- A National Diploma in Occupational Hygiene or Environmental Health (NQF Level 6).
- A Certificate in Mine Environmental Control.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in occupational hygiene.
- Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
- Strong skills in hazard identification, risk management, and report writing.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make informed decisions in challenging situations.
