What You’ll Do

  • Provide optimal nursing care in the Labour Unit: Neonatal, ensuring adherence to professional and legal standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement programs to enhance patient care.
  • Supervise and implement patient care standards, ensuring compliance with Infection Prevention and Control policies.
  • Manage and coordinate activities of patient management effectively, prioritizing tasks according to established protocols.
  • Support staff development and performance management initiatives within the unit.
  • Foster constructive working relationships with nursing colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Report any patient safety incidents and challenges within the unit.

What You’ll Need

  • A Senior Certificate / Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.
  • Basic qualification accredited with the SANC in accordance with Government Notice R425 (Diploma/Degree in General Nursing).
  • A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least one year, accredited with the SANC in Advanced Midwifery: Neonatal Nursing Science.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
