What You’ll Do

  • Provide individual patient assessments and treatment plans to address occupational challenges.
  • Conduct functional rehabilitation, including specialized hand rehabilitation therapy.
  • Lead health education initiatives and facilitate group therapy sessions.
  • Coordinate the assessment, prescription, and fitting of wheelchairs and assistive devices.
  • Manage the servicing and repair of wheelchairs, supporting local repair workshops.
  • Oversee the administration of Occupational Therapy services within the sub-district.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification for registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • For Grade 1: No prior experience post-registration required; one year of relevant experience for foreign-qualified applicants exempt from community service.
  • For Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years relevant experience post-registration for South African applicants; 11 years for foreign-qualified applicants.
  • For Grade 3: At least 20 years relevant experience post-registration for South African applicants; 21 years for foreign-qualified applicants.
  • A valid driver’s license (Code B/EB) and willingness to drive within the sub-district.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work in integrated multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is mandatory.
