What You’ll Do

• Conduct thorough inspections on mechanical work undertaken at project sites to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Compile estimates for repairs and maintenance work, contributing to financial planning.
• Maintain an organized electronic record system for ongoing and completed work.
• Develop progress reports on project status, highlighting outstanding and finalised tasks.
• Advise and guide contractors regarding compliance with legislation and procedures.
• Inspect documentation from contractors to ensure all work meets prescribed standards.
• Process variation orders and requests for project deadline extensions.
• Compile payment documents for completed work and maintain effective contract administration.
• Develop and interpret plans, sketches, and specifications for projects.
• Liaise with stakeholders on technical aspects related to project execution.

What You’ll Need

• A National Senior Certificate.
• A National Diploma NQF level 6 in Mechanical Engineering (T/N/S Streams) or N3 and passed trade test in Mechanical within the built environment, or registration as an Engineering Technician (Mechanical).
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of building regulations and quality control processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong conflict management and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in computer literacy and report writing.
• A client-oriented approach and customer focus skills.
