The Department of Education is looking for an Assistant Director: LAN Technician based at the Head Office in Polokwane. What You’ll Do
- Create and update Active Directory user profiles to ensure secure access to network resources.
- Provide IT support for offices and schools, addressing technical issues efficiently.
- Support ICT security measures, infrastructure, and equipment management.
- Participate in ICT projects and collaboration with vendors, including SITA and Microsoft.
- Assess donated assets and connect devices to the departmental network.
- Assist the Deputy Director: ICT Infrastructure with various departmental projects.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 6 or 7 qualification in IT, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, as recognized by SAQA.
- A qualification in CISP, Microsoft Azure Expert/Speciality, and ITIL certification is advantageous.
- Five years of experience in ICT infrastructure, with three years at a supervisory level.
- Valid driver’s license, with exceptions made for persons with disabilities.
- Strong knowledge in people management, planning, organizational skills, and project management.
- Familiarity with public service legislation, ICT prescripts, cybersecurity, and troubleshooting techniques.
