What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and support municipalities to ensure effective spatial planning in line with SPLUMA.
  • Manage and motivate resources to achieve the Directorate’s objectives and departmental goals.
  • Assist municipalities in administering land use management according to SPLUMA regulations.
  • Help manage and control the budget and cash flow for the district in compliance with financial management prescripts.
  • Support the Directorate in identifying, analyzing, and resolving risks associated with land use and planning.

What You’ll Need

  • National Senior Certificate and an undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Urban/Town and Regional Planning or a relevant field.
  • Compulsory registration with the South African Council of Planners (SACPLAN) as a professional Town and Regional Planner upon appointment.
  • A minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in Town and Regional Planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Capability to interpret and advise on SPLUMA and other developmental issues.
  • Willingness to work under pressure and travel as needed.
