What You’ll Do

• Implement the National Water Act focusing on Resource Directed Measures.
• Coordinate the Adopt-a-River Initiative and oversee river health monitoring.
• Conduct hydrological models and prepare technical reports.
• Organize field trips and prepare supportive technical information.
• Liaise with various stakeholders, including the Department of Water and Sanitation.
• Manage projects and develop Terms of Reference for partnerships.
• Participate in capacity-building and mentorship programs for junior staff.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports while ensuring adherence to deadlines.
• Supervise staff according to departmental policies.

What You’ll Need

• A 4-year degree or equivalent qualification in Natural or Environmental Sciences.
• Six years of post-qualification experience in a related field.
• Valid and unexpired driver’s license.
• Knowledge of the National Water Act and relevant environmental legislation.
• Experience in Resource Directed Measures and Integrated Water Resource Management.
• Proficiency in river health monitoring and indices.
• Strong technical report writing and interpretation skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
