What You’ll Do

  • Assess the completeness of Water Use License Applications (WULAs) and conduct site inspections.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to gather necessary information for WULA assessments.
  • Request scientific inputs from internal specialists and other departments using specified templates.
  • Evaluate hydrological, environmental, and technical information related to license applications.
  • Assist in the development of policies and guidelines for the implementation of the National Water Act.
  • Conduct final assessments on information submitted by water use license applicants.
  • Draft records of recommendations and decision documents regarding license applications.
  • Create license conditions to mitigate the negative impacts of water use.
  • Respond to queries from clients both within and outside the department.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma in Environmental Management or Natural Science in relevant fields such as Agriculture, Hydrology, or Chemistry.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience is advantageous.
  • A strong understanding of integrated water resource management and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including report writing and presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to work abnormal hours, travel, and handle pressure.
