What You’ll Do

  • Monitor compliance of water users in various sectors against issued authorizations and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate audit findings and conduct follow-up site inspections for compliance checks.
  • Compile detailed audit and investigation reports through the National Compliance Information Management System (NCIMS) and Environmental Compliance Management System (ECMS).
  • Investigate cases of non-compliance, including queries, complaints, and pollution incidents.
  • Issue administrative enforcement notices and directives, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
  • Participate in representation committee meetings to review action plans for non-compliant cases.
  • Adhere to deadlines and standard operating procedures for submissions.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma in Environmental Management or a Natural Science field such as Hydrology, Chemistry, or Water Resource Engineering.
  • Practical experience in compliance monitoring and enforcement is an advantage.
  • A valid, unexpired 127 driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and strong writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of relevant water sector legislation and compliance principles.
  • Familiarity with GIS is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work irregular hours.
