The Supply Chain Practitioner in Asset Management is a pivotal role within the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, located in the vibrant city of Pretoria, Gauteng. What You’ll Do
- Manage departmental assets effectively and ensure compliance with asset management policies.
- Conduct training sessions in asset management for client offices.
- Maintain and compile the departmental asset register, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records.
- Implement barcoding systems for asset identification and tracking.
- Process and record the movement of assets accurately.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations between the asset register and BAS.
- Perform annual asset verifications and quarterly spot checks.
- Identify and recommend obsolete and redundant assets for disposal.
- Maintain a proper filing system for all asset management records.
- Administer the barcode register for procured assets.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Logistic Management, Supply Chain Management, or Public Management (NQF Level 6).
- At least 1 year of experience working in Asset Management.
- Knowledge of Treasury Regulations, Public Finance Management Act, and government asset policies.
- Familiarity with BAS systems and LOGIS (Asset Register).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer operations and report writing.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
