What You’ll Do

  • Assist in developing, revising, and implementing asset management policies and procedures
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on compliance with asset management standards
  • Execute plans for asset acquisition, maintenance, and disposal
  • Maintain and review the capturing of all movable assets in the Asset Register
  • Oversee the receipting and capturing of all movable assets
  • Develop and manage mechanisms to safeguard departmental assets
  • Implement systems to track the movement of assets between locations
  • Plan and execute the asset verification process
  • Investigate and report on variances, including shortages or surpluses
  • Ensure the disposal of assets adheres to regulatory frameworks
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of the Asset Register with accounting records

What You’ll Need

  • A 3-year National Diploma or B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)
  • At least 1 year of asset management and administrative experience
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Supply Chain Management
  • Familiarity with procurement prescripts and LOGIS or similar systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent report-writing capabilities
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to organize, plan, and work independently or as part of a team
