What You’ll Do
- Apply effective sterilisation processes and techniques to ensure the safety of medical instruments and supplies.
- Promote and adhere to infection control practices and health and safety regulations.
- Decontaminate, pack, and sterilise instruments and linen supplies accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in maintaining, cleaning, and testing sterilisation equipment, washing machines, and autoclaves.
- Monitor stock levels and report any issues with equipment or lost items.
- Utilize resources cost-effectively while performing duties.
- Lift and push heavy equipment as required.
What You’ll Need
- General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) or Grade 9 (Std 7).
- Relevant experience in sterilisation and disinfection in a hospital environment.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and nights.
- Ability to perform relief duties based on operational needs.
- Strong knowledge of disinfection, decontamination, and sterilisation procedures.
- Familiarity with CSSD equipment and procedures, including gas and autoclave systems.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
