About the Role
The Department of Treasury is seeking a dedicated State Accountant specializing in Cash Flow Management based in Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Prepare and submit cash flow reports to the Minister and management.
- Monitor and ensure expenditures remain within approved budgets.
- Compile monthly IYM expenditure reports for National Treasury.
- Update and maintain recordkeeping of cash flow statements related to official entertainment.
- Verify and rectify incorrect allocations daily.
- Authorize General Journals on the Basic Accounting System (BAS).
- Manage and respond to inquiries related to cash flow management.
- Supervise the work performance of subordinates, ensuring office discipline and effective task allocation.
What You’ll Need
- A 3-year National Diploma in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related qualification with accounting as a subject.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in government financial accounting.
- Proficient knowledge of the Basic Accounting System (BAS) and understanding of the PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent computer literacy and problem-solving abilities.
- Skills in planning, organizing, and analytical thinking.
- A client-oriented approach with financial management and presentation skills.
- Attributes such as friendliness, trustworthiness, and accuracy are essential.
