What You’ll Do
- Provide effective and efficient Human Resources services to support overall departmental goals.
- Verify payroll and respond to payroll-related queries to ensure staff are compensated accurately.
- Process employee benefits in compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Manage employee files and ensure proper record management in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Oversee staff establishment processes, including appointments and maintenance of records.
- Administer termination of services in line with Public Service prescripts.
- Coordinate recruitment and selection processes, including compiling memoranda for advertising positions.
- Arrange interview logistics, including booking venues and coordinating interview panels.
- Verify and manage leave transactions using the Smartsheet system.
- Administer and monitor leave records for staff members.
- Provide training and mentoring to junior HR staff.
- Supervise and manage the performance of HR personnel.
- Compile monthly statistics and assist with Auditor General queries.
What You’ll Need
- A recognized National Diploma in Human Resources Management or Public Management/Administration.
- One to two years of relevant working experience in a Human Resource environment, including at least two years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of HR prescripts, policies, and procedures within the Public Service.
- Familiarity with PERSAL and Smartsheet systems.
- Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant acts, including the Public Service Act, Labour Relations Act, and Employment Equity Act.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and report writing.
