What You’ll Do

  • Process and manage Sundry (BAS) payments efficiently.
  • Provide comprehensive bookkeeping and financial accounting services.
  • Verify and oversee the calculation of South African Revenue Services (SARS) deductions.
  • Coordinate payroll certification and quality assure payroll transactions.
  • Calculate Occupational Specific Dispensation (OSD) salaries as needed.
  • Process employee remuneration and manage SARS deductions on the Personnel and Salary System (PERSAL).
  • Authorise employee payments and SARS payments within the relevant systems.
  • Reconcile employee and SARS payments, submitting bi-annual and annual reconciliations to SARS.
  • Manage claims such as travel and subsistence expenses.
  • Maintain and monitor the Computerised Payslip System (CPS).
  • Respond to salary-related queries and provide necessary documentation for internal controls.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree or higher) in accounting or financial management.
  • A minimum of 1-year relevant experience in a financial or accounting environment.
  • Knowledge of financial legislation, regulatory frameworks, and public finance management.
  • Understanding of operational management practices and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with the Basic Accounting System (BAS) and Logistical Information System (LOGIS).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
