What You’ll Do
- Provide basic nursing care under supervision in the Admission, Antenatal, and Labour Ward.
- Assist with monitoring the health and wellbeing of pregnant women and labouring mothers.
- Support Professional Nurses during deliveries and emergency situations.
- Maintain patient hygiene, comfort, and safety at all times.
- Document patient observations and assist with admissions as needed.
- Report any abnormalities or concerns to Professional Nurses promptly.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control measures diligently.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient care.
- Be prepared to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and an Enrolled Nurse Certificate.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Staff Nurse.
- For Experience Grade 1: No prior experience is required.
- For Experience Grade 2: At least 10 years of recognized nursing experience after SANC registration.
- For Experience Grade 3: At least 20 years of recognized nursing experience after SANC registration.
- Knowledge of Public Service Policies, Acts, and the Labour Relations Act.
- Good communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of maternal, antenatal, and labour ward nursing care principles.
