What You’ll Do

• Provide basic nursing care under supervision in the Admission, Antenatal, and Labour Ward.
• Assist with monitoring the health and wellbeing of pregnant women and labouring mothers.
• Support Professional Nurses during deliveries and emergency situations.
• Maintain patient hygiene, comfort, and safety at all times.
• Document patient observations and assist with admissions as needed.
• Report any abnormalities or concerns to Professional Nurses promptly.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control measures diligently.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient care.
• Be prepared to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 12 Certificate and an Enrolled Nurse Certificate.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Staff Nurse.
• For Experience Grade 1: No prior experience is required.
• For Experience Grade 2: At least 10 years of recognized nursing experience after SANC registration.
• For Experience Grade 3: At least 20 years of recognized nursing experience after SANC registration.
• Knowledge of Public Service Policies, Acts, and the Labour Relations Act.
• Good communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Understanding of maternal, antenatal, and labour ward nursing care principles.
