What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with the transversal team to deliver support to designated schools
• Conduct assessments for learners with severe to profound intellectual disabilities
• Provide relevant therapeutic interventions to students and their families
• Monitor and report on learners’ progress, ensuring effective implementation of learning programmes
• Train teachers on proper assessment techniques and therapeutic sessions
• Advocate for quality educational access for learners with disabilities
• Support the District in developing and implementing Inclusive Education strategies
• Provide additional support to other community learners as needed

What You’ll Need

• An NQF level 7 qualification in Occupational Therapy, as recognized by SAQA
• Valid registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Occupational Therapy field
• In-depth knowledge of education legislation, particularly around Inclusive Education
• Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage with stakeholders
• Initiative and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure
• A valid driver’s licence and functional computer literacy
