About the Role
The Department of Education is seeking a dedicated Chief Speech Therapist Grade 1 to join the team at Setotolwane LSEN School in Capricorn South District. What You’ll Do
- Provide speech therapy and audiology services to learners in need.
- Support educators and staff with the implementation of SIAS policies.
- Conduct screenings and assessments for learner enrolment and transfers.
- Compile medical reports for social grants and administrative purposes.
- Prepare monthly reports and statistics related to speech therapy across all schools.
- Engage with stakeholders for advocacy, including participation in disability forums.
- Manage the procurement and distribution of speech therapy assistive devices.
- Contribute to the training and support of junior therapists and school-based support teams.
What You’ll Need
- An NQF level 7 qualification in Speech Therapy and Audiology recognized by SAQA.
- Valid registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Speech Therapist and Audiologist.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the field of Speech Therapy and Audiology.
- Strong communication and customer care skills.
- Proficiency in time management and the ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of inclusive education guidelines and clinical practices.
- Competency in report writing and project management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
