What You’ll Do

• Provide comprehensive clinical social work services to adults and children in New Somerset Hospital.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments to identify individual conditions and needs.
• Develop and implement safe discharge plans for vulnerable individuals and families.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders.
• Stay informed about new developments in the field of social work.
• Assist in managing resources and support social workers, volunteers, and students.
• Perform necessary administrative duties related to social work processes.
• Deliver accountable social work services through effective planning and execution.

What You’ll Need

• Appropriate qualification as a Social Worker for registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP).
• Registration as a Public Social Worker with the SACSSP.
• For Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years experience in social work post-registration.
• For Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years experience in social work post-registration.
• For Grade 4: Minimum of 30 years experience in social work post-registration.
• Valid Code B/EB driver’s license.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy related to social work in the public sector.
• Excellent report writing, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a clinical setting.
