What You’ll Do
- Accompany walking patients and transport non-ambulatory patients safely between wards and treatment areas.
- Assist with transferring patients to beds and trolleys as needed.
- Ensure safe transportation of patients in and out of vehicles.
- Respond to requests from various departments regarding medical equipment or documentation.
- Deliver medical documentation, including patient files and reports, to appropriate areas.
- Change or assist in changing oxygen supplies during patient transport when necessary.
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of laboratory specimens and blood products.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment throughout the facility.
What You’ll Need
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Relevant experience as a porter in a healthcare setting.
- Willingness to rotate within wards and departments as needed.
- Physical fitness to handle and lift heavy objects.
- Ability to act as a reliever for messenger duties when required.
- Preparedness to handle corpses when necessary.
