About the Role
The Department of Social Development is seeking a dedicated Social Worker Gr 1 to join its team at the Head Office in Mbombela. What You’ll Do
- Monitor and support compliance of Conditional Grant ECD programs according to established norms and standards.
- Facilitate the registration and renewal processes for ECD centres, ensuring they meet required criteria.
- Verify eligibility screening for children seeking funding, ensuring equitable access to resources.
- Mentor and supervise Social Auxiliary Workers, providing guidance and allocating tasks effectively.
- Organize and facilitate local stakeholder meetings to discuss ECD program enhancements and challenges.
- Conduct parental caregiver training, equipping families with skills to support their child’s development.
- Perform essential administrative duties related to social work and program management.
What You’ll Need
- A recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (NQF Level 7).
- Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of psycho-social interventions and the Education White Paper 6 on Inclusive Education.
- Understanding of diverse barriers to learning and development.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
- A valid driver’s license to facilitate travel for work-related duties.
