What You’ll Do

  • Assist social workers in providing essential social work services to vulnerable individuals and communities.
  • Support the execution of departmental programs aimed at care, protection, and development.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in the social work and social services field.
  • Perform administrative tasks to support social workers in their day-to-day activities.
  • Engage with multi-sectoral teams to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Document and report on social needs and activities accurately and efficiently.
  • Utilize appropriate resources to address the unique needs of prioritized focus groups.

What You’ll Need

  • NQF Level 4 qualification (Grade 12) or equivalent, along with a Social Auxiliary Certificate.
  • Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
  • Basic understanding of the South African social welfare context and the role of social auxiliary work.
  • Knowledge of social work principles and relevant legislation impacting the field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with social workers and community teams.
  • Strong record-keeping and reporting skills.
  • Self-awareness regarding personal skills and a willingness to develop under supervision.
