About the Role

The Department of Social Development is seeking dedicated individuals for the position of Community Development Practitioner Grade 1, with six available posts across various locations in the Capricorn and Waterberg Districts, including Ratshatsha, Northam, Bela-Bela, Modimolle-Phagameng, and Mavele Clinic. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on local communities, fostering development and enhancing the quality of life for residents in these areas. Through your work, you will collaborate with community members and stakeholders to implement integrated development interventions that address their needs effectively.

What You’ll Do

• Identify and facilitate the implementation of community development initiatives in collaboration with residents and relevant stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain partnerships to ensure sustainable development actions within the community.
• Provide administrative support for community development projects and activities.
• Stay informed about new developments in the community development field to enhance service delivery.

What You’ll Need

• A relevant qualification at NQF 6 or equivalent in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related field recognized by SAQA.
• A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (except for persons with disabilities).
• Knowledge of community development work and the social dynamics of communities.
• Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Proficiency in project management and basic financial management.
