What You’ll Do

• Deliver a comprehensive Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery clinical service across multiple health facilities.
• Participate in both normal and after-hours duties according to departmental schedules.
• Undertake administrative responsibilities related to the monitoring and evaluation of specialist services.
• Provide leadership and oversight to staff, fostering accountability and excellence in service delivery.
• Supervise and mentor postgraduate and undergraduate students in clinical settings.
• Engage in operational and clinical research, contributing to the advancement of dental practices.
• Render specialized dental services at the Oral Health Teaching platform.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification enabling registration as a Dental Specialist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Dental Specialist post-registration.
• A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.
• Strong leadership abilities and a solid understanding of governance structures within academic-health service platforms.
• Knowledge of clinical governance and regulatory requirements in public sector dental services.
• Proven experience in research, clinical supervision, and training of students and staff.
• Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Competence in using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook for administrative tasks.
