What You’ll Do
- Deliver a comprehensive Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery clinical service across multiple health facilities.
- Participate in both normal and after-hours duties according to departmental schedules.
- Undertake administrative responsibilities related to the monitoring and evaluation of specialist services.
- Provide leadership and oversight to staff, fostering accountability and excellence in service delivery.
- Supervise and mentor postgraduate and undergraduate students in clinical settings.
- Engage in operational and clinical research, contributing to the advancement of dental practices.
- Render specialized dental services at the Oral Health Teaching platform.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification enabling registration as a Dental Specialist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Dental Specialist post-registration.
- A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.
- Strong leadership abilities and a solid understanding of governance structures within academic-health service platforms.
- Knowledge of clinical governance and regulatory requirements in public sector dental services.
- Proven experience in research, clinical supervision, and training of students and staff.
- Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Competence in using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook for administrative tasks.
