What You’ll Do

• Review and study the recommendations of the TRC, including relevant documents and exhibits.
• Provide expert guidance to TRC investigating officers and support their efforts in legal matters.
• Draft a variety of legal documents related to access to evidence and court procedures.
• Conduct thorough research and prepare legal opinions and reports on TRC matters.
• Make informed legal decisions in line with the law and NPA policies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and colleagues to ensure effective handling of TRC cases.
• Assist in the development of strategic and operational plans to enhance NPA performance.
• Monitor and report on performance information and statistics related to TRC matters.

What You’ll Need

• An LLB or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
• At least eight years of post-qualification legal experience, particularly in criminal litigation.
• Demonstrable skills in independent decision-making, professionalism, and accountability.
• Right of appearance as per the NPA Act, section 25(2) of 1998.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with MS Teams and Power BI is an advantage.
• Strong administrative skills and the ability to work under pressure, including long hours if necessary.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, adaptability, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge and experience regarding TRC matters would be beneficial.
• A valid driver’s license.
