About the Role
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional for the role of Deputy Director: Facilities Management at the Madadeni Provincial Hospital. What You’ll Do
- Oversee the management and coordination of various hospital functions, including cleaning, portering, and food services.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards across all services.
- Manage contracts with outsourced service providers to ensure adherence to service level agreements.
- Develop and implement policies aimed at improving service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections and provide reports on the state of the hospital to management.
- Ensure the efficient allocation and utilization of resources, including staff development and performance management.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support hospital operations and service delivery.
- Enforce disciplinary codes and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
What You’ll Need
- A Degree or National Diploma in Public Management, Public Administration, or Health Service Management.
- A minimum of 3 years of managerial experience at the Assistant Director level in Facilities Management.
- A valid driver’s license.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Public Service Act and National Health Act.
- Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
- Excellent leadership, planning, and organizational abilities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- A commitment to quality and continuous improvement in service delivery.
