What You’ll Do

  • Conduct verification of carbon tax and technical review of GHG reports for companies.
  • Assess the completeness and accuracy of emissions data submitted by regulated entities.
  • Evaluate verification statements and independent assessor reports to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with relevant authorities to align reported emissions with national inventory data.
  • Provide technical leadership in inventory management for the Industrial Processes Product Use and Waste Sectors.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of GHG inventories following IPCC guidelines.
  • Support carbon budget allocations for companies in the industrial sector.
  • Conduct scenario modelling and analysis of GHG emissions.
  • Guide research studies aimed at improving emissions estimation and mitigation options.
  • Enhance GHG data management and verification systems, integrating them with regulatory reporting platforms.

What You’ll Need

  • Master’s Degree (NQF9) in Chemical Engineering, Natural or Environmental Sciences, or a relevant field.
  • Five years of experience in a related role.
  • Knowledge of environmental and development issues at global, regional, and local levels.
  • Understanding of GHG emissions processes and climate change mitigation strategies.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to conduct research and analyze information effectively.
  • Familiarity with atmospheric chemistry and industrial process applications.
