What You’ll Do
- Conduct verification of carbon tax compliance for GHG reports from regulated entities.
- Assess the accuracy and completeness of emissions data submitted by companies.
- Develop and enhance GHG inventories for the energy sector, ensuring adherence to IPCC guidelines.
- Collaborate with authorities to align reported emissions with national inventory data.
- Lead technical leadership and inventory management initiatives within the energy sector.
- Conduct scenario modeling and analysis to inform national mitigation pathways.
- Coordinate and guide research studies to improve emissions estimation and data systems.
- Promote integration between GHG data management platforms and regulatory reporting systems.
What You’ll Need
- A Master’s Degree (NQF 9) in Chemical Engineering, Natural or Environmental Sciences, or a relevant qualification.
- At least five years of experience in a related field.
- Strong knowledge of environmental issues, particularly related to emissions and climate change mitigation.
- Proficient in project management and understanding of industrial processes affecting GHG emissions.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to conduct research and data analysis effectively.
