What You’ll Do
- Implement the acquisition of strategically located land in line with national imperatives.
- Identify suitable land for acquisition in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive project register for land acquisitions.
- Facilitate the mapping of identified land with key commodities and national priorities.
- Assess and value identified properties for acquisition.
- Support beneficiary selection and land allocation processes within the district.
- Compile and maintain a database of all land allocation applications received.
- Prepare documentation for selection committees regarding land allocation.
- Link selected beneficiaries to training units and facilitate land handover.
- Ensure compliance with the Beneficiary Selection Policy and other relevant guidelines.
- Develop and manage a land application system/database for tracking acquisitions.
- Compile project information reports for departmental management and approval structures.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Agricultural Studies, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, Town and Regional Planning, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Public Management, Real Estate, Property Management, or a related field.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in land acquisition or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of land reform policies and legislation, including the Provision of Land and Assistance Act, Labour Tenants Act, and others.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and project management.
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and facilitate coordination efforts.
- Willingness to travel as required.
