What You’ll Do
- Oversee the management of agricultural development and agro-processing support services.
- Ensure sustainable resource management and provide farmer support and development services.
- Manage agricultural economics and research initiatives.
- Lead the establishment and growth of agro-processing enterprises.
- Coordinate integrated rural development initiatives across Gauteng.
- Manage infrastructure projects related to agriculture, including maintenance and design of farm structures.
- Ensure discipline and assess management performance within the department.
- Consolidate and manage budgets for the executive support directorate, including authorizing and monitoring expenditures.
- Prepare and compile various reports and statistics related to departmental activities.
What You’ll Need
- A Matric certificate and a Post Graduate qualification in Agriculture, Veterinary Services, Business Administration, or Management (NQF level 8).
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience at a Senior Managerial level.
- A valid Driver’s License.
- Nyukela SMS pre-entry certificate and ethics compliance certificate.
- Strong competencies in planning, problem-solving, initiative, negotiation, project management, and decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and relevant legislation such as PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
