What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement scientific methodologies, systems, and procedures.
• Identify and consolidate needs for methodologies and policies.
• Conduct training workshops to address gaps in knowledge and skills.
• Monitor and evaluate programme performance through scientific analyses.
• Provide scientific support and advice during client advisory meetings.
• Foster strong relationships with clients through regular liaison meetings.
• Create public awareness of the science system by engaging with stakeholders.
• Prepare and publish technical reports and information packages.
• Mentor and develop candidate scientists to promote knowledge transfer.
• Stay updated with new technologies by attending workshops and conferences.

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 12 Certificate and a 4-year BSc (Honours) or equivalent in Agriculture, specializing in Soil Science (fertility and plant nutrition).
• Compulsory registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) as a Professional Natural Scientist.
• A minimum of 3 years post-qualification regulatory experience.
• Strong expertise in the interpretation of the Fertilizer, Farm Feeds, and Agricultural Remedies Act.
• Proficient in programme/project management and scientific methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work under pressure and travel as required.
• A valid driver’s license is essential.
