What You’ll Do
- Represent the State in litigation and appeals across various courts, including High Courts and Labour Courts.
- Provide legal advice and opinions to different clients within the department.
- Draft and finalize legal documents, including arrangements and contracts.
- Handle liquidation and insolvency queries, conveyancing, and notarial services.
- Manage arbitration processes, including inter-departmental arbitration.
- Oversee trust registrations and debt collection initiatives.
- Support effective people management within the legal team.
What You’ll Need
- An NQF level 7 qualification in Law / LLB as recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of four years of appropriate post-qualification legal/litigation experience.
- Admittance as an Attorney in South Africa.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legal practices, office management, and accounting systems.
- Understanding of government prescripts and the Constitution of South Africa.
- Experience in conveyancing is advantageous.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong computer literacy and skills in legal research and drafting.
- Excellent communication, accuracy, and attention to detail.
