About the Role
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Manager’s Office is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Administrative Officer to join its team in Pietermaritzburg. What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive administrative support for the unit’s daily operations.
- Manage travel arrangements, venue bookings, and accommodation for staff.
- Oversee the administration of office correspondence, compiling letters, memorandums, and reports.
- Maintain an organized filing system for documents and correspondence.
- Compile financial and administrative reports, including budget and cash flow projections.
- Act as secretary during meetings, ensuring minutes and action items are accurately recorded.
- Track incoming work, ensuring deadlines are met and correspondence flows smoothly.
- Liaise with various stakeholders to facilitate communication and document processing.
- Implement risk and compliance management practices effectively.
- Coach and guide staff on best practices and compliance with regulations.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification in Office Management and Technology, Business Management, Administration Management, or a related field at NQF Level 6 recognised by SAQA.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Administrative Officer or Chief Administration Clerk.
- Proficiency in office budget administration and knowledge of National Treasury Regulations.
- Extensive knowledge of various filing systems and the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Understanding of departmental legislation and prescripts, as well as the Public Service Regulatory Framework.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel and work extended hours.
- Strong problem-solving skills, planning, and organisational abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, customer focus, and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively within a team.
